The University of Scranton WEC Fall StartUP Series: Empowering Women Entrepreneurs

The University of Scranton Women’s Entrepreneurship Center (WEC) is on a mission to empower women through entrepreneurship and the development of their business skills. This Fall, the WEC is launching its StartUP Series, a program designed to provide women with the tools, resources, and support they need to start and grow their own businesses.

The U.S. Small Business Administration reports that women-owned businesses are one of the fastest-growing sectors of the economy, and the WEC recognizes the importance of supporting and empowering women in the entrepreneurial space. The StartUP Series is a comprehensive program that will offer workshops, networking opportunities, and mentorship to help women bring their business ideas to life.

One of the key components of the StartUP Series is the workshop series, which will cover a wide range of topics essential to starting and running a successful business. Workshops will focus on business planning, financial management, marketing and branding, and legal and regulatory considerations. Participants will have the opportunity to learn from experienced entrepreneurs and business professionals, and gain practical skills to help them launch and grow their businesses.

In addition to the workshop series, the StartUP Series will also provide participants with access to a network of mentors and resources to support them as they navigate the challenges of entrepreneurship. Mentors will offer guidance and support, and help participants make valuable connections within the business community. The program will also provide access to resources such as business counseling, funding opportunities, and access to the university’s Small Business Development Center.

The WEC Fall StartUP Series is a valuable opportunity for women who are interested in pursuing entrepreneurship to gain the knowledge, skills, and support they need to succeed. By providing women with the tools and resources to start and grow their businesses, the WEC is helping to create a more inclusive and equitable entrepreneurial ecosystem.
